Once the GKH horizontal scraper discharge centrifuge reaches its rated rotational speed, the feed valve activates. The suspension flows into the drum through the distribution hopper and spreads uniformly across the filtration medium. Centrifugal force drives the separation of liquid—expelled through the medium and drum apertures—and solid matter, which accumulates into a compact filter cake. When the sediment reaches the preset thickness, the feed valve shuts down to allow for rinsing and drying processes. The rotating scraper then scrapes away the sediment deposit, which is discharged through a chute or screw conveyor system.
